A brilliant afternoon at the APSCo Awards for Excellence. Great to see such talent and creativity in our industry being recognised.

Across the board, the best in the business turned out and their work and ingenuity to innovate, deliver, and grow in these tough times is humbling.

Sometimes recruitment can get a bad rap - especially as tech is rushed into place as a false proxy for the human touch - but yesterday showed why its a £43bn sector in the UK, adding value to companies and organisation by connecting them with the right candidates, day-in, day-out.

Congratulations to all the worthy winners and the equally worthy short-listed entries. As a judge it was brilliant to see such great work being done and we had some hard choices to make. The cliche 'everyone could be a winner' was never truer.

Thanks to Ann Swain for creating and leading APSco such a great champion and standard-setter for our industry, plus of course Moya Rylands. Plus, to my fellow judges Amy Davies John Rose Catherine Carangelo.

And great to see friends like Tara Ricks, Simon Whitehead and Steve Solomon too.
