There’s something special about getting a hand-written note of thanks. 
And it was inspiring to listen to Charlotte Pearce yesterday on #RadioFour talking about how she’s built a brilliant business on that simple understanding.

Her business, Inkpact, helps companies build loyalty and trust by sending their customers personalised hand-written notes, crafted by her team of writers (essential qualifications include good handwriting, so rules me out).

As her website put its ‘emotional connection in the mail = outstanding results’.

It works, generating 5000% ROI, as 'In a digital-first world, the most impactful connections are usually the most human, and (almost always) the most overlooked.'

But as all entrepreneurs know, having a great idea is only the start of the journey.

It’s the commitment and focus to build a business, to flex and shift, to make uncomfortable decisions or face down challenges in dark moments, that really makes a difference.

I listened to Charlotte as I was working in the office. 
Having the radio on is both background noise but also, for me, a way for me to learn and discover so many new things. 
It’s so important, I find, to read and listen as you never know what you can pick up, or what you can go looking for once someone opens the door for you to something new.
