The business
JGR is a Manchester headhunting firm specialising in accountancy practice, contractor payroll and property finance. Jamie Gray Goncalves founded it in 2024 and has grown it from one person to a team of seven in the first two years.
The brief
JGR built its foundations without investment or outside guidance and is ready for its next stage. Jamie brought in MJS Partnership to support its growth strategy, with Jo also working with Jamie personally as a non-executive director.
How Jo works with them
Jo advises Jamie on strategy and growth as the business expands. As non-executive director, he guides key commercial decisions, team development, internal processes and long-term planning, helping Jamie and the team make informed decisions while keeping JGR’s culture, values and ambition intact.
What’s changed
For Jamie, the difference is perspective: honest challenge, and decisions tested against the bigger picture rather than the day to day. Jo also lends his experience to JGR’s wider network, including participating in panels and marketing events like the Professional Growth Brunch series.
